Ashley Strickland joined NewQuest Properties in 2015 as an Associate with experience in leasing over 7 million square feet throughout the Houston and Dallas Fort-Worth areas. Ashley graduated with a BA in Real Estate and Finance from Southern Methodist University where she was awarded the ‘Outstanding Real Estate Finance Major’ of her graduating class. As a native Houstonian, Ashley utilizes her learned skill set and market knowledge to lease both NewQuest & 3rd party owned properties, specialize in retail development, and assist her clients in tenant representation. Her properties are located in both Texas and Louisiana areas. Additionally, her current clients include Mo’s Irish Pub, Village MD, Sbarro, and Cucinova.

Austen Baldridge, a native Houstonian, joined NewQuest Properties in 2016 as an Associate specializing in project leasing. Austen brings a diverse background in accounting and finance to the brokerage team, as he has over 6 years of experience in public accounting and oil and gas. Prior to joining NewQuest, Austen was a Senior Analyst with Genesis Energy LP in their Refinery Services division and served on the Refinery Services Leadership Team. Austen began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers after earning his BBA/Masters of Accounting at Baylor University. Born and raised in Houston, Austen leverages his relationships, market knowledge, analytical skills and attention to detail to represent NewQuest and third party client properties.
Austin Alvis joined NewQuest Properties in 2014 and specializes in development, project leasing, and tenant representation. Native to Houston, Austin leans on his market knowledge to assist clients in site selection and strategic expansion. Developments and acquisitions are focused in both growth areas and under-served markets, ranging from single pad sites to neighborhood grocery-anchored centers. Austin began his post-graduate career at Bank of Texas as a credit underwriter before leaving to pursue higher education. Austin has an economics degree from Southwestern University and an MBA from Rice University.
Bob Conwell is a native Houstonian with more than 31 years in real estate – 21 of those years have been with NewQuest Properties. Prior to NewQuest, he was Vice President at University Savings and Loan. Bob has represented such clients as Inland, RPI Management and NewQuest, and currently represents Malibu Tan and Shogun Japanese Grill and Steakhouse. He attended the University of Houston and is an avid supporter of Cougar football. Bob is also a member of Preservation Houston and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Brad is a Vice President in NewQuest’s brokerage division with a diverse skillset and experience in land sales, project leasing, tenant representation, and investment advisement. Brad has completed over 100 transactions since joining NewQuest from financial intermediary HFF in 2013, and is now responsible for marketing a portfolio totaling over two million square feet of commercial land and retail space. While at HFF, Brad successfully closed transactions totaling over 11 million square feet with an aggregate value of more than $2.75 billion.
Brad received a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Tennessee, and a Master of Business Administration from Rice University where he served as chairman of his class.
Brad LyBrand is a land brokerage specialist with experience throughout the Houston area. His experience working with retail & master planned community developers has led to a wide variety of transaction experience to include retail & restaurants, medical, multifamily, corporate campus, seniors housing, REO, school districts, industrial & home builders among others. Brad has extensive experience in the southern Houston suburban markets of Pearland and Manvel and is frequently called on as an expert on the SH 288 Corridor. Ongoing brokerage assignments have taken him to the I-10 Energy & US 290 Corridors, The Woodlands, Kingwood and various other sub-markets in the Greater Houston area. Brad is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and enjoys participating in local charitable & business organizations, spending time with his family, and coaching his daughter’s sports teams.
Since graduating from A&M University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Caroline Howell has played an active role in the real estate industry. After beginning her career at Weingarten Realty Investors, Caroline joined NewQuest Properties and

Christopher S. Dray has represented local and regional retail tenants and investors throughout the Houston market. His areas of expertise include retail, office, investments, tenant representation, land brokerage and project development in Houston’s urban core and suburban core. Dray focuses on long-term, full-service relationships with commercial real estate investors and tenants to re-develop and revitalize urban in-fill locations to maximize tenant and landlord value. He has advised and represented retailers and entrepreneurs in site selection, market analysis and purchase and/or lease negotiations in all the major sub markets throughout Houston. A graduate of Emory University with a B.A. in Psychology and the University of Florida with an MBA in Finance, Dray is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Texas. A native Houstonian, Danny McCormack joined the NewQuest team in 2011. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.A. in Finance/Real Estate, as well as an M.B.A. in Finance with an emphasis in Real Estate. As a licensed real estate salesperson, Danny has played a role in various departments of NewQuest including: development, finance, tenant coordination, construction, tenant representation and representation, land, and capital markets. He currently focuses on tenant representation and land development in and around the greater Houston area, Austin, and D/FW.

Dave Ramsey specializes in the acquisition and disposition of large residential and mixed use properties. With more than 32 years of experience in the real estate industry, Dave has been involved in transactions totaling more than 11,000 acres of property. Dave is consistently listed among the “Heavy Hitters in Commercial Real Estate” in the Houston Business Journal. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with B.S. degrees in Real Estate and Marketing. Dave is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Texas.
Frank is a designated Certified Commercial Investment Member and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of Texas. Frank specializes in investment property brokerage and land sales to investors, developers and national corporations. Frank earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Texas A&M University. In addition to his professional activities, Frank has served on numerous real estate and civic committees.
Glenn Dickerson’s experience runs the gamut in real estate. He has transacted deals on behalf of homeowners, landlords, tenants, hospitality brands, multi-family developers, medical users and raw land owners. Glenn’s real estate career began in Beverly Hills, California where he worked in the high end residential market. In just one year, he was one of the top sales brokers in the very competitive Beverly Hills market. Glenn has also worked at AmReit, a publicly traded real estate trust, and has represented Inland Retail Management, Choice Hotels, Allied Realty, and local businesses in their search for real estate throughout Texas. Glenn prides himself on working with a sense of urgency for his clients. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is also a former ATP professional tennis player.
Heather Nguyen is a Development Partner for NewQuest Properties and has been with the company since 2000. Routinely a top producer, Nguyen’s 18 years of real estate experience have encompassed all areas of retail real estate including leasing, tenant representation, and development. Nguyen’s client list encompasses many prominent real estate investors and retailers including HEB Development, Kroger Company, Sam Boyd Development, 99 Ranch Market, Daiso Japan, 85°C Bakery and Café, Kula Revolving Sushi, and Jinya Ramen. Nguyen’s shopping center development portfolio includes The Shops at Pearland Parkway, Carrollton Town Center, Frisco Ranch, Marketplace at Ninety-Six, and Katy Grand II.
Hugh Ruggles has 37 years of experience in commercial real estate. He formed Texas/Southwest Group which became known and respected throughout the restaurant and real estate industry. Specializing in representing restaurants with their real estate expansion, his company has been involved in over 500 real estate transactions. In 2012, Texas/Southwest Group became a division of NewQuest Properties which provided many additional benefits for their clients. Prior to entering the real estate profession, Hugh attended North Texas State University and The University of Texas, obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Hugh’s military career involved both active duty and reserve time in the U. S. Army Special Forces. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Hugh is married and has two adult children.
Jeff Lokey brings more than 30 years of commercial brokerage experience to NewQuest Properties. He serves as Executive Vice President of the land brokerage division in Houston, where he has been employed since 2000. During this time, he has captured the title of Top Producer, as well as being named a eight-time “Heavy Hitter” by the Houston Business Journal. Jeff brings an “added value package” to the table. With extensive experience and in-depth industry knowledge, he provides a solid directional foundation needed to develop assets to their fullest potential. Jeff represents a wide spectrum of land owners, from individuals to corporations, and banks. He also represents over 500 limited partners in investment portfolios.
Jeffrey S. Hayes has represented both national and local retailers and investors throughout the Houston market. His areas of expertise include retail, tenant representation, land brokerage and project development. He has advised and represented retailers in the site selection, market analysis and purchase and/or lease negotiations in all of the major submarkets throughout the Houston area and South Texas. A graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Economics Management, Hayes is a licensed real estate agent in the State of Texas and is also currently an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Hayes has been awarded NewQuest’s Top Land and Top Hybrid Broker in recent years, as well as a “Heavy Hitter” distinction by the Houston Business Journal.
Born in Houston and raised in the real estate business, J.J. has a strong understanding of the Houston real estate market. J.J. joined NewQuest in 2016 after previously serving as an associate with SDI Realty Advisors, a full service retail development firm. At SDI, J.J.’s primary focus was the leasing, redevelopment, and disposition of various assets ranging from neighborhood gas stations to regional power centers across Texas and Louisiana. J.J. is a proud alum of Southern Methodist University where he was the starting quarterback for the 2011 football team. J.J. graduated from SMU in 2011 with a B.B.A. in Financial Consulting. J.J. is a licensed sales agent with the Texas Real Estate Commission and an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
John Nguyen joined NewQuest in May of 2013 and serves as an Associate for the Third Party Client Services division and also leases NewQuest owned assets. His primary responsibilities include leasing transactions, providing his team and their clients with valuable market research, and identifying and obtaining potential clients. John also provides project leasing services for numerous grocery-anchored and neighborhood shopping centers and is involved with tenant representation for local, regional and national retailers. John has provided real estate services for HEB Grocery Company, 99 Ranch Market, Daiso Japan, Kim Son Restaurants, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen, LA Crawfish, Jinya Ramen, Tom+Chee Restaurant, and 85°C Bakery Cafe.

Jon Jamison works extensively in both Tenant and Landlord representation. He has worked with tenant’s such as El Pollo Loco, Red Robin restaurants, Chuy’s Mexican Food, PETCO, Sears Hometown and Outlet stores, YUM Brands , Total Nutrition, Jimmy Johns, while also representing other various local tenants throughout the Houston market. Jon has also worked with Land owners and Landlords such as Inland American/InvenTrust, Wile Interests and Ersa Grae Corporation.
Jon joined NewQuest Properties in 2008 and was named “Rookie of the Year”. He is a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona, where he earned a degree in Financial, Real Estate and Law. Jamison is also an active member and committeeman of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Josh Friedlander joined NewQuest Properties in 2010, but has been active in the retail real estate industry for over eleven years where he specializes in project leasing, tenant representation, land, and investment sales. Josh has represented a multitude of landlords including NewQuest Properties, Braun Enterprises, Inland American, RPI Management, RPD Catalyst, and A&M Capital RE among others.
Josh graduated from The University of Texas where he received a degree in finance. He is currently an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). In his spare time, Josh enjoys skiing Lake Travis, watching sports, and spending time with family.
Mark Lindsey, a native Houstonian, joined NewQuest Properties in 2016. Specializing in raw land brokerage with an emphasis on commercial and mixed use tracts. As part of the land brokerage team, Mark strives to find innovative and analytical solutions for land owners, business owners, and investors. Prior to joining NewQuest, Mark spent 2 years in the Oil & Gas industry, and graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Marketing.
Matt Reed joined NewQuest in 2004 and specializes in tenant representation. He has been in the real estate business since 2002 and has been named a Houston Business Journal “Heavy Hitter” five times, and an “MVP” in 2010 and 2011. He was awarded the Top Retail Broker by NewQuest in 2007, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, and 2015.
Matt’s clients include Dick’s Sporting Goods, Ross Dress for Less, PETCO Animal Supplies, Sears, ULTA Cosmetics, Lane Bryant, 99 Cents Only, Yum Brands, El Pollo Loco, European Wax Center, Mi Doctor, and Full Psycle. Meredith graduated from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Prior to NewQuest, Meredith led and developed an entrepreneurial and financial education program for microfinance recipients in Ghana. More recently she started a sustainable cleaning company in Boston where she worked with first generation refugees. While at Babson, Meredith was the first female President of the Babson Investment Management Association and interned with Merrill Lynch.
Neal Thomson joined NewQuest Properties in 2013 after working with TGB Crosswell and Lestin Partners. Born and raised in Houston, he is very familiar with the Houston market. Neal has specialized in tenant representation since his time at Lestin Partners where he learned the fundamentals of site selection, market analysis and lease negotiations for various clients across multiple sectors of the market. Recently, he has started to work on land acquisitions with a main focus in the Pearland market. Neal graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance.
Ori Batagower is a native Houstonian that comes from a family of entrepreneurs that immigrated to Houston in the 1960’s. He recently completed the sale of a very successful Inner Loop Custom Home building and Development company that he started 12 years ago. He possesses tremendous expertise in residential development and construction in Houston’s Inner Loop, and has represented builders and developers on both the buy and sell side of transactions.
In addition to servicing Residential Developers, his additional areas of practice include tenant representation, retail, restaurant, land, and project development.
Focused on long-term, full service relationships, Ori’s clients include restaurateurs, medical practices, dry cleaners, land owners, and residential developers. Rachael Keener started at NewQuest in 2007 as an executive assistant and assisted brokers in tenant representation. Recently, she was promoted to an associate and now specializes in both project leasing and tenant representation. Rachael currently oversees 12 shopping centers for landlords, including NewQuest Properties and Ersa Grey, as well as tenant representation for Smoothie King. Rachael graduated from St. Edward’s University with Bachelors in Psychology and is an active member of the ICSC.
Rebecca Le has over 13 years of experience in the real estate industry. At NewQuest Properties, Rebecca specializes in project leasing and tenant representation. She has considerable experience in handling all project types from small strip centers to power anchored projects. Rebecca currently oversees the leasing of over 18 shopping centers for landlords including NewQuest Properties, Inland American Management REIT, Inland Western REIT, and RPI Management. Rebecca also focuses on tenant representation, with clients such as Smoothie King and Texas Emergency Care Specialists. Rebecca has worked on several notable developments including Cypress Village Station, the first development in which METRO has partnered with a private company to operate its Park and Ride facility, along with retail, office, and residential spaces.
Whitaker, previously the owner and manager of Whitaker Company Brokerage, possesses more than 40 years of experience in land brokerage in northwest Harris County and southwest Montgomery County. His knowledge and relationships in Houston’s commercial land development and investment sector are invaluable to his clients. Whitaker was the exclusive broker for Jack Frey Properties in the High Meadow Ranch subdivision where he has lived for the past twelve years. He has extensive experience in residential development, commercial development and large land tracts for investment opportunities. Whitaker has also specialized in farm and ranch sales, as well as appraisal services.
As a native Houstonian, Shireen Owlia began working on real estate transactions with her family at an early age. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from The University of Texas at Austin and received her Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law. She practiced as a commercial litigator and real estate attorney prior to joining NewQuest Properties in 2014.

Zack Sturgeon, a native Houstonian, joined NewQuest Properties in 2016 as a senior associate with experience specializing in both tenant and landlord representation, leasing and sales. Zack has represented local, national and international clients with requirements ranging from 2,000 square feet to 400,000 square feet. His hands-on, client-centric approach has resulted in a diversified portfolio including listings and sales in retail, office, industrial and land properties. Prior to joining NewQuest, Zack was Managing Principal at StugeonCarswell Commercial Real Estate. Zack graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a focus in Finance and Real Estate from Texas A&M University.
