PFLUGERVILLE, Texas – NewQuest is starting construction on a multi-tenant building in Stone Hill Town Center in Travis County, setting plans in play for Taroko Sports to open its third experiential entertainment venue in Texas.
The highly anticipated Taroko Sports will occupy 11,740 sf of the 18,840-sf new structure in Stone Hill, a one-million-sf mixed-use destination at the crossroads of TX 130 and TX 45 in Pflugerville. The projected opening is Q1 2027.
“Taroko Sports brings an entirely new dimension to batting cages. Batters step up to the plate and use an interactive TV to select a Major League Baseball field for their play – with the ability to change cities,” says Josh Friedlander, leasing director and development partner for Houston-based NewQuest.
Construction is ramping up just as NewQuest is poised to deliver a 7,125-sf structure preleased to CAVA, a Mediterranean grill, and Hopdoddy, the burger bar’s second location in the Round Rock-Pflugerville market. The restaurants are slated to open in the fourth quarter.
“We’re constantly looking to modernize and upgrade the tenant mix,” Friedlander emphasizes.
NewQuest broke ground in 2007 on Stone Hill Town Center, attracting leading brands then and now. The 135-acre retail development is one of the Top 10 shopping centers in Texas.
Stone Hill is positioned at the epicenter of a high-growth area, which is continuously expanding. The trade area’s population is pushing 250,000, with average annual household incomes of $156,000.
“There is no shortage of interest in Stone Hill’s space because tenant sales are always so strong,” Friedlander says. “It’s a testament to the area’s robust demographics.”
Taroko Sports is an all-in-one sports and entertainment concept, featuring cages for batting and pitching, 5D racing simulators, arcade games and mini-bowling. Baseball aficionados can track and analyze hits in real time with Taroko’s proprietary HitTrax simulation system.
Taroko Sports, which has 14 locations in its native Taiwan, expanded to the U.S. in early 2025. To date, the brand has five venues in the U.S.
