NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – NewQuest is under construction on the highly anticipated Sprouts Farmers Market in Creekside Town Center in a groundbreaking market expansion to bring the first organic-focused supermarket to Comal County.
The developer is anticipating a Q1 2026 opening for Sprouts, a 23,434-sf store that will be conveniently parked within walking distance of Creekside Town Center’s multifamily component and premier shopping, dining and entertainment brands. The Phoenix-based chain is the first grocer in NewQuest’s 400-acre development, which now exceeds one million sf of built space with room for another 100,000 sf in the Texas Hill County town of New Braunfels.
“Sprouts is a great addition to both the community and Creekside. Not only does this add a component to the project we have been missing, but it also kicks off another phase of development that is sure to bring even more life to the area,” says Austin Alvis, president and chief development officer of Houston-based NewQuest.
Sprouts has nearly 55 locations in Texas, the closest of which is 35 miles southeast of New Braunfels. GLR Inc. is the general contractor for the new store, a ground-up undertaking in Creekside’s Phase II development.
NewQuest’s Creekside Town Center, prominently positioned along Interstate 35 and FM 306, has grown exponentially in sync with surrounding master-planned communities that have sprouted up in recent years. At last count, there are roughly 51,000 single-family homes close by and another 18,800 on drawing boards or under construction. The 10-mile trade area boasts nearly 165,000 residents, with the average household income hovering $119,000 per year.
Additional synergy comes from the neighbor directly across the street – the top-visited Buc-ee’s in Texas and fourth most popular one in the nation. Meanwhile inside Creekside is the soon-to-be developed Topgolf and EoS Fitness, which will be located close to one of NewQuest’s top drawing cards, EVO Entertainment. NewQuest’s built space is 99% occupied.
“NewQuest had the foresight to invest in this Texas Hill Country location in 2006. It’s been astonishing to watch New Braunfels develop into such a strong market,” Kevin Sims, senior vice president and leasing director of the firm. He and Nick Ramsey, senior vice president, lease Creekside Town Center.
