Corporate Accountant

Candidates must have a working knowledge of accrual and cash basis accounting practices, policies, and procedures. Ideal candidates will possess prior experience in commercial real estate accounting, with broad exposure to leasing and brokerage commissions, management fees, cash planning, intercompany reimbursements, property taxes, property insurance, construction accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting/analysis, and special projects. He/she must have excellent Microsoft Excel spreadsheet skills, possess experience with modern accounting information systems and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook. Prior experience with property accounting/property management is preferred. Candidates should be self-motivating, possess attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to work autonomously. The candidate should be flexible with a willingness and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while working productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.   • Preparation of corporate/overhead financials and advanced reporting
  • Perform monthly journal entries; develop deep understanding of our General Ledger
  • Maintain significant confidential information
  • Process and record leasing and brokerage commissions, management fees, and intercompany reimbursements
  • Prepare advanced analysis schedules
  • Perform variance analysis
  • Perform software system setups—new entities, workflows, chart of accounts entries, bank accounts and other software setups, primarily within accounting and accounts payable systems
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new tools, workflows, reporting methods
  • Assist with property acquisitions and dispositions
  • Process bank deposits

Skills traits, capabilities, and experience

  • Full charge bookkeeping/accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • Commercial real estate and MRI software experience. Prefer experience with retail center/multiple tenant accounting
  • Excel spreadsheet proficient; advanced competency in spreadsheet work
  • Excellent spelling and grammar
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Able to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Must be a team player and able to get along with many personalities
  • He/she is teachable and willing to learn new systems and processes in an organization that is constantly changing and growing.
  • Ability to work full time hours in an open office environment
