Where did you grow up?

San Antonio born and raised until I left for college

What’s your educational background?

Alamo Heights High School, Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA – BS in Business Administration

How long have you been in the industry and what drew you to commercial real estate?

Got my real estate license when I was 19 and worked summers for my father’s commercial brokerage firm in San Antonio, so I guess you could say 6 years. 3 years since graduating college

What is your market specialty and why did you decide to focus your talents on that specific market?

I specialize in retail tenant and buyer representation. Helping businesses develop and implement a real estate strategy in a large urban market is challenging and fun. Very gratifying to negotiate a good real estate deal on behalf of a business you represent.

What has surprised you the most about the industry?

People’s patience and willingness to help young brokers who are just starting out in the business is refreshing. You run into some jerks, but for the most part, I really enjoy the people I interact with in the course of business.

What has been your biggest challenge and struggle (besides the market) in commercial real estate?

Time management.

What’s the most memorable deal that you have done?

Representing Racetrac Petroleum in their acquisition of a site at Huffmeister and White Oak Springs – we had to jump over virtually every hurdle you can throw at a deal and were able to get it done.

What do you do for fun when you’re not brokering or negotiating a real estate deal?

My wife and I love spending time on the Gulf Coast – pretty much anything involving salt water… fishing, boating, beach bumming.
