Cypress Dance Project Thrives In Its New Home

July 19, 2012

Retail space in Houston has become a bit livelier since the arrival of the Cypress Dance Project. A non-profit dance studio, it has quickly earned the attention and respect of the Cypress community. Located in the Windcliff Town Center at Jones Road and Cypress North Houston, the studio was founded by parents who sought a more constructive and supportive environment for their children in dance.

The Cypress Dance Project’s non-profit status makes it different from other traditional dance studios. All money coming in to the studio is re-invested into the program. This keeps costs down for families, while still allowing the studio to attract and pay great instructors.

The dance studio quickly piqued interest when it offered a free week of dance lessons during the grand opening week. Cypress Dance Project also offers community performances, self-esteem building workshops and classes for dancers with special abilities.

“It’s great to see an initiative inspired and driven by the community flourish so quickly.” says Shannon Parker, Director of Marketing at NewQuest Properties. “We are excited to see Cypress Dance Project continue to spread positive influence and growth beyond the space of its physical walls.”

In addition to making headlines, the Cypress Dance Project will be hosting Project POP STAR to enhance children’s self-esteem and creativity in August.
