Ground Breaking Held Today for the 2012 GHBA Benefit Home

January 23, 2012

NewQuest Properties and Chesmar Homes broke ground today on the first Greater Houston Builders Association Benefit Home for 2012.  The Benefit Homes Project is a charity sponsored by the GHBA.  Chesmar Homes will be constructing their 3,400 sq. ft. Apollo Plan in the NewQuest development of The Reserve at Brazos Town Center.

NewQuest Properties is very pleased to be a part of the Benefit Homes Project,” said Steve Alvis, Managing Partner for NewQuest Properties.  “NewQuest firmly believes in developing projects which bring a greater value to the residents and surrounding community.  The Reserve at Brazos Town Center serves as a prime example.  We are excited to partner with Chesmar Homes to build a wonderful new home for the benefit of several worthwhile charities.

Chesmar has been a huge supporter of the Greater Houston Builders Association and this fund raiser,” said Don Klein, president of Chesmar Homes.  “We are looking forward to working with NewQuest in their growing community of The Reserve at Brazos Town Center in Rosenberg.

Each year two luxury homes are built for the Benefit Homes Project with materials and services that are donated by GHBA members. The homes are sold at market value and the majority of the proceeds are donated to charity.  The three 2012 beneficiaries are Texas Children’s Cancer Center, the Alzheimer’s Association and HomeAid Houston.  Since the Project began 31 years ago over $7 million has been raised.   Chesmar Homes is donating the construction management and NewQuest Properties donated the home site.
