Transwestern’s Houston headquarters today announced it has been awarded the leasing assignment for Katy Grand Crossing, a multi-phase 600,000-square-foot, Class A office development located in an amenity-rich mixed-use development. The project is located near the northeast corner of Interstate 10 and the Grand Parkway. Katy Grand Crossing is being developed by NewQuest Properties and designed by Powers Brown Architecture.
David Baker, executive vice president of office services, and Kristen Baker, associate vice president with Transwestern will lease the office property on behalf of NewQuest Properties. Phase I, a 139,169-square-foot, six-story building, is currently being pre-leased. Phase II includes up to 500,000 square feet of build-to-suit office space.
“Katy Grand is strategically located in the heart of West Houston’s professional workforce and will be an amenity-rich mixed-use development,” said David Baker. “It will also offer anchor tenant identity options with exposure to I-10 and the Grand Parkway.”
With the opening of the Grand Parkway this fall, Katy Grand Crossing will be easily accessible to a highly educated workforce of over 800,000 living within a 20 minute drive time. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 75 percent are white collar/office workforce, compared to 62 percent in the overall Houston MSA. Additionally, the 20-minute radius boasts 38 percent of the population holding bachelor’s degrees or higher, compared to 29 percent in the Houston MSA.
